As Executive Director, DE&I, you will lead a team to ensure our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in our business processes, workforce programs, and community initiatives within the retail business unit. You will set direction and collaborate and influence senior leaders on diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. You will provide expertise for the continuous improvement and measurable results of the retail business unit and company-wide DE&I strategies and objectives. The Executive Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion reports to the Chief Diversity Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with WISDM, business leaders, and HR Business Partners to ensure DE&I Enterprise goals are defined, well understood, and cascaded/communicated appropriately.
  • Partner with senior leadership across the Enterprise in designing and implementing both the retail business unit and enterprise-wide DE&I strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Diversity Leadership Councils and other key leaders, including HR Business Partners, to ensure that the retail business unit DE&I strategies are in sync and being operationalized to full potential.
  • Internal consultant and adviser for senior leadership across the Enterprise, to inform and lead strategies to leverage all aspects of diversity for marketplace competitive advantage and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead direct reports and cross-functional/matrix teams to implement, benchmark, measure, and continuously improve strategic innovative initiatives that institutionalize corporate policies, practices, programs, and procedures that center DE&I.
  • Able to systematically orchestrate and drive culture change throughout the organization. Facilitate creating a culture in which the extraction of business value and contribution to colleague experience within DE&I principles is second nature at all levels of the organization.
  • As a change agent and business leader, you’ll establish metrics for change and can move the organization from point to point and in clear alignment with business results.
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility with a variety of different constituencies both internally and externally.
  • This leader will educate, equip and empower other leaders and colleagues with the value and the many implications of DE&I – keeping in mind that many of those leaders and colleagues will be at different levels of understanding and will be in a matrix environment.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: $131,500
Maximum: $297,250

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion or relevant experience developing and implementing DE&I strategies or programs in a large organization.
  • 5+ years of building, managing, and/or developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience developing and managing complex enterprise programs/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives that have resulted in systems change, and/or the advancement or equity within diverse groups
  • Proven experience and demonstrated skills influencing and leading large, cross-functional and matrix groups with the ability to work across all levels of the organization as an advocate for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Fortune 500 company, preferably within Retail or Healthcare.
  • Experience in crisis management.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams through change.
  • Advanced Degree
