Director, Securities Management
An A+ Best rated company with $9 billion in assets located in the Southeastern United States is seeking a director of securities management. Will be responsible for developing and implementing Southern Farm Bureau's investment program including:
- Fixed income securities, money market securities, common and preferred stocks and other investment assets. (Investment recommendations are subject to the approval of the investment committee.)
- Responsible for the training of company investment personnel.
- Maintains public relations with the investment community and with those who are a source of offerings in bonds and stocks.
- Monitors changes in the economy involving investments, rate of interest and bond/stock rates.
- Within the scope of the executive's responsibility, renders decisions regarding stock and bond purchases and other investments.
- Adheres to the policies of the company investment program in obtaining the maximum use of funds obtained by investing in short and long-term securities.
- Works closely with investment committee to set investment strategy and work with joint ventures, private equity, limited partnerships and special/ work out situations.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- CFA or MBA required
- 10 years experience in Securities Management
- Broker/dealer experience a plus
- Experience in joint ventures, private equity and limited partnerships
- Previous management of staff a plus
- Strong oral and written skills
- Computer proficiency required
- Experience in special/work out situations
