The University of Nevada, Reno announces a job opening for a SEVIS Technology Specialist in the Office of International Students & Scholars.
The primary responsibility of the SEVIS Technology Specialist is to manage data on international students and scholars; he/she ensures that the various information systems in the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS), at the University of Nevada, Reno, and in the SEVIS system in the U.S. government are consistent. He/she creates and updates records, registers students and scholars, verifies and uploads changes, and responds to SEVIS alerts and updates. In addition, this person generates reports, assists international students and scholars, and helps with the general office functions at the OISS. In order to be successful in this position, the incumbent must have strong computer skills (management of data systems, report generation, email listservs, word processing, and web). Great attention to detail and accuracy is critical, as well as, intercultural sensitivity-working with people from different cultures.
Bachelorís degree from an accredited institution and two years of related experience, including one year working with information technology pertaining to international students and scholars. Basic knowledge of F and J visa regulations required.
Experience working with PeopleSoft, fsaATLAS, and SEVIS preferred. Web design experience preferred.
