Position Overview

Navistar Has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the Springfield, OH Assembly Plant. This fully on-site position will support manufacturing operations of the CV-GM Vista Light Duty (Commercial Vocational); the MV-Medium Duty (Medium Vocational); and the HV-Heavy Duty (Heavy Vocational). Other operations include a cab assembly and stamping facility; a paint facility; an assembly plant and a Truck Specialty Center nearby.

Responsibilities

  • Support day to day production activities to help meet customer product demand.
  • React to machinery uptime issues and drive towards permanent, cost effective and long term solutions.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Standardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other facilities’ manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives.
  • Follow up on the implementation of engineering changes and variations from design specifications as well as new program developments.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
  • Initiates, develops and pursues capital appropriation projects.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • Master’s degree 

OR

  • At least 4 years of product manufacturing experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
