Partner and consult with Regional/Country Presidents, Corporate Development, and other key functional areas across the business development spectrum (lead identification and screening, deal process, and integration) aligned with PII’s growth strategy and commensurate with the company’s growth objectives. In addition, this team works closely with the Head of PII, COO, Regional Presidents, and Enterprise Strategy to help define & articulate the business portfolio strategy agenda (link imperatives, priorities, and initiatives) and support oversight and execution of key enterprise strategic initiatives and other large/complex programs. The team also supports key decision-making forums and senior executive/Board meetings.

  • Support Regional and Country Presidents to build and triage portfolio of business development and acquisition opportunities through the management system and investment framework to drive consistent investment prioritization and decision-making across the portfolio
  • Develop business and integration plans for potential targets, including business case and strategy, timing, proforma P/Ls, risk assessments
  • Lead/support development of acquisition business plan, due diligence activities, coordinating with all relevant stakeholders, including external advisors, and interfacing with corporate development, finance, legal, and other functions to ensure seamless deal execution
  • Maintain and build a broad set of senior-level relationships for PII across ecosystem leaders/strategics and transaction facilitators (e.g., investment banks, private equity firms)
  • Track and assess results and synergies from acquisitions and investments and how they perform vs. expectations
  • Coordination of venture investing/innovation framework in shaping and delivering strategic themes to broaden capabilities from the venture ecosystem and ensure connectivity paths across PII businesses to work with portfolio companies, as well as partner with the CIO’s office to review fund performance (PruVen, APIS, etc.)
  • Conduct research and extract insights from internal and external sources (e.g., macroeconomic trends, industry outlook, market, and competitor intelligence), formulating data-driven business intelligence and developing strategic implications
  • Contribute to and assist in carrying out cross-business unit/enterprise strategy projects and initiatives through different phases: Identify opportunities or challenges, define the approach, and required analyses, create a work plan, allocate team resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with advanced degree preferred (Ex. MBA)
  • Strong background in Finance, M&A, and/or strategy in an international multi market environment
  • Financial services industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in working in highly complex and matrixed operating models
  • Ability to turn strategy into action; strong track record of exceptional outcomes
  • Thrives in working in fast-moving environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take complex strategies and break them into actionable pieces
  • Comfort in working with broad cross company teams while ensuring that key timelines and deliverables are met
  • Ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders both within and outside of the organization
  • Strong collaboration skills while still ensuring that decisions are made efficiently

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $201,900.00 to $273,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
