Description: Optiver US LLC Job title: Senior Commodity Options Trader (Multiple Openings) Job location: Chicago, Illinois Job duties:The Senior Commodity Options Trader will actively run the trading desk strategy by adjusting parameters of trading algorithms and making trading decisions within the framework of the desks' trading strategy; recommend investments and investment timing; and analyze pricing or risks of trading decisions. S/he will mentor and supervise 2 employees including a Junior Options Trader and Trader Trainee on a peer basis by providing coaching on derivatives and trading practices. S/he will identify trends in market and build automated strategies to capture the opportunity available. S/he will apply mathematical or statistical techniques to address practical issues in finance, such as derivative valuation, securities trading, risk management, or financial market regulation. S/he will collaborate with product development teams to research,model, validate, or implement quantitative structured solutions for new or expanded markets. S/he will collaborate in the development or testing of new analytical software to ensure compliance with user requirements, specifications,or scope. S/he will have final authority over optimizing all algorithmic trading parameters. This requires extensive data analysis and collaboration with other trading and development leads. S/he will set the long term vision for the team's path with the goal of delivering strong trading profits. S/he will supervise 1 Junior Options Trader and 1 Trader Trainee. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics,Statistics, or related field, plus 3 years of work experience in market making commodity options. Additionally, must have: (1) 3 years of experience with trading on hard grain markets, including corn, soybeans and wheat; (2) 3 years of experience with trading soft commodities including sugar and coffee; (3) 3years of experience applying knowledge of production and harvesting cycles for grains, and external factors such as weather to determine inputs like volatility and skew towards the pricing of option contracts; (4) 3 years of experience using Onetick for statistical analysis of trade and financial data; (5) 3 years of experience using Python to script the automation scripts that assist in electronic trading; and (6) 3 years of experience using Bloomberg to download data, research, and processes to make trading decisions.
