Job Description:

Description of Duties:

The lab manager will assist the Principal Investigator prepare for and maintain all aspects of laboratory and field measurement projects. The successful candidate will have knowledge of all projects underway in the research group and assist group members in the execution of these projects. The manager's activities will include, but not be limited to, purchasing parts and supplies, testing parts and equipment, troubleshooting problems, and repairing equipment when possible.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with atmospheric chemistry field deployments
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment
  • Experience calibrating chemical and meteorological sensors
  • Experience fabricating electronics circuits, boards, and cables
  • Experience with vacuum systems and air sampling manifolds
  • Experience in mechanical design
  • Machine shop fabrication experience
  • Experience fabricating measurement systems for laboratory and field measurements
  • Willingness to travel to measurement sites in New York State

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $19,968 ($32/hour for 12 hours per week)
