Trocaire College is a private, career- oriented Catholic College.  It was founded in 1958 by the Sisters of Mercy to provide an opportunity for the women of the order to study Education.  It has since evolved into a uniquely comprehensive, coeducational institution with enrollment of approximately 1,400 students. Trocaire offers Associates Degrees, some Bachelor’s Degrees, and Certificates to a largely non-traditional student population. Often described as “a college of second chances” with “transformational” impact, Trocaire strives to empower students toward personal enrichment, dignity, and self-worth through education in a variety of professions and in the liberal arts.

Trocaire College is an urban campus, located on Choate Avenue in South Buffalo.  Buffalo is the second most populous city in the State of New York.  It sits on the eastern shores of Lake Erie and at the head of the Niagara River.  The Buffalo Metropolitan area has one of the most affordable housing markets in the US.  With plenty to do, Buffalo is home to four sports teams, Kleinhan’s Music Hall, and Shea’s Performing Arts Theater, among numerous other museums, parks, art galleries, and tourist attractions.  Known as “the city of good neighbors,” Buffalo was rated among the top ten best places to raise a family in the U.S. by Forbes Magazine in 2010.

Trocaire College provides a friendly, supportive, and positive environment for its employees.  Read what our employees have to say:

“Everyone here has a smiling glow on their faces with a positive attitude to match.  I can honestly say that Trocaire genuinely cares for each other and the students that attend here,” Brad Baumgardner, Veterans Coordinator.

“Although I am a fairly new employee, I already feel like part of a big, caring family at Trocaire. Staff and faculty have gone out of their way to make me feel at home in this rich academic environment. Not only is there a strong sense of community at the college, but the employees believe in the college’s mission and are passionate about what they do. Trocaire has been a wonderful place to work thus far,” Nicole Tomasello, Research Associate.

“I love working at Trocaire because the people are friendly, supportive and encouraging. Many of the employees have worked here for over 20 years which is testimony to the quality of life here. It is a community oriented environment where everyone works together toward a common goal,” Susan Lombardo, Director of BSN Program.

Trocaire College recognizes that a diverse workforce with employees from various races, genders, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, and backgrounds creates a rich environment of ideas and culture that can help us better connect with and serve our students.  It is important in helping us recognize the needs of our diverse student body and prepare them for work in the universal community.
