TITLE: Manager, Digital Content
DEPARTMENT: Public Information
LOCATION: New York
REPORTS TO: VP, Public Information

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Manages and administers amfAR’s websites. Manages the presentation of content on websites and intranet, and works alongside amfAR staff members to post new and revised content. Works with amfAR staff to design and send bulk electronic communications. Responsible for setting and implementing online objectives designed to advance the Foundation’s goals, enhance its online reputation, influence policy action, and achieve fundraising goals. Works directly with the CTO and Director, ITS, on technical aspects of the Foundation’s websites and eMarketing systems.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts regular reviews of website content. Makes recommendations for new content and new ways to organize and present content; works with the Public Information staff to keep the content current.
  • Manages and designs digital communications, including e-News, fund raising appeals, and e-invitations.
  • Collaborates with other departments to create professional, engaging, and creative text and multimedia digital content. Maintains digital best practices and analysis. Maintains amfAR's digital brand standards and content style.
  • Supports and implements amfAR’s social media efforts, including text donation program.
  • Acts as lead SEO analyst to collaborate on marketing strategies as well as helping to implement SEM. Ensures that all web content is SEO compliant.
  • Monitors website traffic and electronic communications distributions including “click-through” rates. Compiles and distributes statistical reports and analyses. Provides ad hoc analytic reports as needed.
  • Collaborates with ITS and different departments on the acquisition and use of appropriate web-based technology tools.
  • Works with the Public Information department and the ITS department to coordinate the implementation of technical requirements and website upgrades.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience, and a minimum of five years web development and design experience.
  • Must have extensive experience designing digital communications and using a Content Management System.
  • Should have experience in writing for web publications, and knowledge of current web-based tools and design.
  • Should have experience using programs such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Flash development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues preferred.
