Job Responsibilities:

  • This position evaluates individual product performance and market opportunities, creates new product proposals and represents the voice of the customer in the development process for Honda & Acura vehicles.
  • Other responsibilities include:
    • Design, coordinate, and execute strategic and tactical qualitative and quantitative research projects.
    • Work with research suppliers to plan and field primary research projects involving focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, vehicle clinics, and online surveys.
    • Analyze primary and secondary research data, develop report and present findings, and make insightful and actionable recommendations.
    • Collaborate with product planners and engineers to translate research conclusions into feasible product specifications.
    • Identify and implement new and innovative research techniques to address business needs.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, market research, a social science, statistics or in a related field (advanced degree a significant plus).
  • 3-5+ years experience in market research (both client- and supplier-side experience preferred but not required).
  • Additional background in strategic planning or product development a significant plus.
  • Proven ability to execute qualitative and quantitative research projects from inception to completion, including research design, questionnaire/discussion guide development, fieldwork management, analytical planning, data analysis, report development, and presentation.
  • Experience with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, and a fundamental understanding of advanced statistical concepts.
  • Proven ability to synthesize information into meaningful conclusions, develop a compelling story based on data, and generate actionable, business-impact recommendations.
  • Demonstrated interest in and fundamental knowledge of the automotive industry.
  • Experience working for an automobile manufacturer a significant plus, but not required.
  • A “team first” mentality, a committed desire to learn and a passion to create innovative mobility products.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team setting.
  • Must be creative, flexible and have the ability to plan, execute and analyze complex research projects.
  • Detail oriented, strong work ethic, and possess strong analytical thinking, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and software such as SPSS strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
