TheAbdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is recruiting a Training Managerto develop and manage J-PAL’s research support operations.This is a mid-level position.
Requirements include:
A Master’sdegree in economics, education, public policy, international development, orother related fields;
Significant training in and a strong technicalunderstanding of randomized impact evaluations;
2 years relevant economicexperience (Applications from candidates with only a bachelor’s degree will beconsidered if the applicant has at least 3 years’ of RCT experience.);
Knowledge of data management, econometrics, and use of STATA or other data analysis software, are strongly desirable;
Must know Powerpoint; Experience with massive open online courses (MOOCs) is a plus.
This position is based in J-PAL inCambridge, MA. It will involve collaboration with J-PAL’s regional offices.
Responsibilities include:
Take a lead role in J-PAL’s eLearning initiative, including developingcontent, exploring platforms, negotiating with eLearning providers, andmanaging online courses;
Design and conduct rigorous evaluations of J-PAL’s training activities;
Support J-PAL capacity building activities, including Executive Education courses and custom workshops;
Identify and pursue training opportunities with external partners throughout the world.
