Teacher of Math and Science (Physics) 2024

The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 770 students K-12, welcomes candidates for a full-time position as a Teacher of Math and Science (Physics) beginning August 2024.

Responsibilities include

• teaching three courses in the Math curriculum in the Middle and Upper School and teaching one course in Physics in the Upper School.
• implementing inclusive, anti-bias, and anti-racist pedagogy
• participating in and/or leading grade-level team planning meetings with colleagues
• contributing to the life of the school outside of the department

The ideal candidate will:

• have a bachelor’s degree in the subject area or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
• have experience in teaching at the middle and/or high school levels
• demonstrate strong skills in communication
• demonstrate the desire to work collaboratively and in consultation; to learn from and alongside your colleagues
• have a commitment to the education of girls
• understand the needs of students at various levels of intellectual and social development

Salary

In 2024-25, the total full-time salary for this position ranges from $78,100 to $143,000 depending on experience.
