Collaborative Pianist 2024

The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 750 students K-12, welcomes candidates for the position of Collaborative Pianist beginning in August 2024.

Responsibilities include:

• accompanying two choruses in several weekly rehearsals, during the school day (8 am - 3 pm) and after school, and performances throughout the academic year
• accompanying school assemblies and community events throughout the school year during the day and after school
• accompanying students in recitals during the day and after school
• serving as pianist for an annual class musicalproduction.

The ideal candidate will:

• hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Piano or Collaborative Piano
• have excellent sight-reading skills and be proficient in diverse musical styles
• have extensive experience and demonstrate a strong interest in accompanying choral ensembles
• have the ability to work with vocalists
• possess competence in anti-racist pedagogy
• bring to their work a collegial spirit and a sense of humor

Salary

$70 - $85 per hour, depending on experience, up to 30 hours per month.
