Description: Full or Part Time Middle School Math Teacher SFDS seeks an experienced and enthusiastic middle school Math teacher and advisor for the 2017-2018 school year. Successful candidates will have strong experience in the classroom teaching middle school math. Responsibilities include teaching, serving as an advisor to a small group of students, and participating in all aspects of faculty life. Candidates considering full or part time will be considered. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience with excellent benefits. Candidates should have a background in mathematics including all topics taught in a high-level middle school curriculum, including Algebra I. Students in grades 5-8 utilize digital tools, conceptual and inquiry opportunities, and benefit from a one-to-one iPad program in grades 6-8. As listed in the NAIS Principles of Good Practice, an effective SFDS teacher has thorough knowledge, uses a variety of teaching techniques, establishes positive relationships with students, collaborates with colleagues, initiates professional development, supports the School mission, serves outside the classroom, adheres to professional standards, and models integrity and respect.
