Description:

Environmental Engineer (Multiple Positions), (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.; Pasadena, CA): Execute water/wastewater engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects such as water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, tunnels, and water and wastewater treatment system. Assist with calculations to analyze and design water/wastewater system components. Perform an evaluation and selection of water/wastewater systems and materials and the development of water/wastewater specifications. Perform the development of water/wastewater systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Support the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent. Prepare water/wastewater engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules. Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks. Recognize when technical problems are developing, and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Attends and assist in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client’s goals, site assessments, and vendor/equipment supplier contacts and coordination. Participate in basic cost estimating under the direction of technical leaders to support engineering projects. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). The salary range is $100,200 - $145,300 per year.

Requirements:

Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Treatment and design of biosolids and odor control facilities; Managing and conducting pilot facilities; Managing and conducting pilot studies for wastewater intensification and co-digestion; Designing Master Plan for wastewater, stormwater, and biosolids facilities; and Utilizing Biowin and AutoCAD.

Must have active membership in the Water Environment Federation.

Must have an active Professional Engineer license from the State of California.
