Job Overview

The VP of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for leading the manufacturing operations for our Coffee business, with a focus on driving operational excellence, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. This position will oversee the day-to-day business operations, including maintaining inventory levels aligned with commercial priorities and ensuring the conversion of raw materials into finished goods. The VP of Manufacturing Operations will be required to partner across a variety of functions including Innovation, R&D, engineering, Procurement and HR to deliver on business objectives. This role will also be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for Coffee operations and aligning with the executive leadership team on the future vision.

This position will be a member of the Coffee Supply Chain Leadership team and will report directly to the SVP, Coffee Supply Chain.

What you will do:

  • Ensure employee safety and finished goods quality are at industry-leading levels by establishing and maintaining appropriate standards and protocols.
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations, including maintaining inventory levels aligned with commercial priorities and ensuring the conversion of raw materials into finished goods.
  • Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, track costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Collaborate across a variety of functions including Innovation, R&D, engineering, and HR to steer the manufacturing organization toward executing against the business’ goals
  • Review and optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to ensure that manufacturing capabilities and capacity are aligned with customer needs and market trends.
  • Establish the strategic direction of the operations division, advise executive leadership on operations projects and systems, and collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Establish automation technologies, including robotics, AI, and machine learning, to reduce costs and increase efficiency
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems including digital solutions and automation technologies to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
  • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization's vision
  • Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution/li>
  • Review and approve cost-control reports, present performance reports and metrics to executive leadership
  • Ensure that the manufacturing workforce is trained and developed to meet current and future needs
  • Establish and reinforce a strong employee value proposition, including capability building and employee engagement to improve employee skills and increase retention

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of manufacturing experience in CPG industries, including consumer food and beverage, consumer durables, semiconductors, or similar industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field required
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with digital and automation solutions for manufacturing operations
  • Experience managing teams of 100+ employees, including cross-functional teams and global teams
  • Experience driving staffing and technological improvements and solutions to build world-class manufacturing sites and teams
  • Proven ability to leverage large teams and technology in manufacturing to improve process control, workflow enforcement, error proofing - FMEA, efficiency, scaled replication and compliance
  • Experience leading strategic, project management teams that involve complex systems
