Position Summary: As a central engineering process engineer will use engineering principles and Clorox Early Management tools to design and improve Clorox manufacturing processes that involve the mixing, conversion, or reaction of raw materials through various unit operations into finished products. Will frequently participate on multi-functional teams providing chemical/process engineering functional expertise for project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up. Will use Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop project scope of work and cost estimates related to process systems. Will define, manage, and critically review work products from outside engineering firms to provide detailed process engineering work for projects. May perform functions of a capital project manager which includes responsibility for defining overall project scope, cost, obtaining AFE approval, and construction management. Must be capable of working across different technologies and across multiple business units. Will ffrequently manage projects or participate on project teams across multiple locations simultaneously. 1. Process engineering resource for capital project teams.
2. Provide process engineering feasibility analysis for potential projects or process improvements.
3. Lead miscellaneous engineering or administrative projects/tasks.
4. Provide process technical support to manufacturing operations.
Revenue Responsibility:
Develops expense and capital budgets for projects. Must manage scope, actual spending, commitments and anticipated future spending within approved budget. Typical approved project budgets will be less than $1MM, but occasionally be greater than $1MM.
Other Scope Factors:
Assignments emphasize the application of expert knowledge to improve manufacturing's competitive performance. Provides cross-functional team with the technical knowledge and leadership required for the development of manufacturing equipment essential to line extension and product improvements. Develops and implements projects/programs that provide competitive improvements. Plans and leads medium to large sized projects/programs that include the integration of outside technical resources.
