History of Modern Latin America. Assistant Professor beginning August, 2011.

The Department of History at San Diego State University seeks a political, economic, or social historian of Modern Latin America, excluding Mexico, whose scholarship and teaching situates Latin America in a comparative, multicultural, and/or global context. Candidates should have research and teaching interests in the historical intersections among the people and places in Latin America and the rest of the world from 1800 through the present. Candidates must be prepared to teach lower division courses in modern World History and/or World History for Teachers, survey courses in Modern Latin America, and upper division and graduate courses in their area of specialty. PhD. required by August, 2011.
