University of Missouri-Kansas City The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor, tenure track, in Advertising and Public Relations. The successful candidate will possess a proven record of professional experience in at least one the following areas: strategic communication, public relations, multi-media communications, or social marketing. Teaching experience at the college level is required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, incorporating emerging advertising and public relations strategies into the curriculum, working collaboratively with faculty members within a growing department and establishing relationships with regional professional communities. Promotion and tenure require excellence in teaching, scholarly publication and service. Qualifications: Ph.D., MFA, MBA or ABD (to be completed by June, 2011) in Communication, or equivalent professional experience, required.
