University of Missouri-Kansas City The Department of Communication Studies seeks applicants for the position of non- tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor of Speech Communication. Candidates should have demonstrated prior college or university teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness. The candidate should have the academic background to teach at least four of the following courses: intercultural, interpersonal, organizational, small group communication, persuasion, advanced public speaking and rhetoric. This is a full-time teaching non-research position. The teaching load will be a minimum of 4/4. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, working collaboratively with faculty members within a growing department. The successful candidate should be able to achieve course and curriculum development. University service is expected. Minimum Qualifications: PhD.preferred., or MA in Communication Studies and prior teaching experience at the college level required. ABD applicants will have a terminal degree in the area of Communication Studies by the start of the contract period. The salary is competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
