University of Missouri-Kansas City The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks applicants for Assistant Professor in Film & Media Arts. The successful candidate will possess exceptional conceptual, technical and theoretical aptitudes in film and digital production/post-production, and will have a distinguished creative portfolio. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students, and working collaboratively to build a growing film and digital emphasis within the communications department. Our program is invested in a liberal arts education that combines theory and practice in an interdisciplinary environment. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D., MFA or equivalent record of experience in the area of film and media arts. Prior teaching experience at the college level required. ABD applicants will have a terminal degree in the area of film and Media Arts by the start of the contract period. Review of applicants will begin on August 1, 2010 and will close Dec. 1, 2010 Employment begins Fall 2011.
